For the Son of Man is Come

For the Son of Man is come

To seek and to save the lost

He still performed this duty

While dying on Calvary's cross

Both thieves had opportunity

To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

One remained a steadfast scoffer

The other entered Paradise

His Salvation was most blessed

To thousands of those who heard

The power of the Son of God

Was manifested by His Word

As nature obeyed its Master

When He spoke they well took heed

The wind and the water became still

The disciples more fully believed

We have a wonderful Saviour

Can He deliver? Rightfully so!

He lives in us by His Spirit

Our Guide unto heaven we know

Forgiveness is flowing within us

Forgiven, we can now forgive

Our sins have been cleansed by the blood of the Lamb

We live now, we live now, we Live!

Resurrection power has raised us

New creatures in Christ  now are we

Because He lives, we shall live also

Praise God for eternity

Fear of death has departed

Hell no longer has hold

What message we have to tell to the world

A greater story has never been told!

So Lord I'm thanking You again

Thanks for the So Great Salvation

Thank You for saving my soul from sin

For breaking the yoke of damnation

They could not keep You in that tomb

Yes, the stone, You had rolled away

You probably spoke, unto it "Move!"

And the rock You made obeyed!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
