He Did The Resurrection To Perfecti

He Did The Resurrection To Perfection

He did the Resurrection to perfection
The same body raised that was before
Just like He said..."destroy this temple"
And I will raise it to live evermore
His appearance proved His witness
An affirmation in history sealed
The Word of God still in production
Although to some its verity's appealed

O we have a firm foundation
That anchor still holds steadfast
Truth can never be swayed or slayed
For it's eternal and shall ever last
Though Heaven and earth may pass away
Never a funeral for the Word
For by it comes the Salvation for man
To deny it would be absurd

One of my favorite lines still is
For "up from the grave He arose"!
Praise God He defeated...sin, death, and Hell
What great triumphant over His foes
And still that name of Jesus Christ
Forever will remain
Why even the very thought of it now
Starts a joyous refrain

Praise God He's everywhere present
There's no escaping that fact
He came...He died...He rose again
No duplicating that act
And love personified in Christ
Reduces sin's corruption
For His shed blood at Calvary
Assures my Resurrection!

O I believed...I really believed
And now I'm bound for glory
To live one day with Christ Himself
His Spirit sealing my story
Don't leave off your sin problem
While the great Physician's here
Now! Today! Repent! Believe!
Put your saving faith in gear!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
Who kickstarted sin's demise
And one day soon will call us home
To our ascension in the skies
What a Friend I have in Jesus
Sticking closer than any brother
If you come to know Him friend
You'll have no need of another!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
