What Drawing Power

What Drawing Power

What drawing power of God's Word
When it is read as truth
Written by holy men moved by the Spirit
God having Salvation in view
All of the sacrificial offerings
That were of old testament days
Were pointing forward to the day of Christ
Who'd become our offering and praise

Not the blood of bulls and goats
Which could never erase our sin
It took the blood of the sinless Christ
To fulfill redemptions plan
Yes...He...who knew no sin
Praise God became sin for us
What praise and majesty in that Son
What glory in the Cross

All sufficiency in that Saviour
He has become Lord of all
And offers forgiveness by His grace
To whomsoever on Him shall call
Step up to the plate my friend
Pray for God's understanding
In regards to His Word for you
Today!!!...while His offer still standing!

Don't think lightly of your neglect
To see..what God's Word has said
Find in Him true nourishment
The true Living water and bread
Find that Christ's body was broken for you
No death was ever more precious
Seek ye the Lord while He may be found
Enjoy the favor of God's Righteousness

Hallelujah what a Saviour
God's not the author of confusion
But has given us clear direction
By His divine infusion
For God was in Christ reconciling the world
Behold Him!...both Lamb and the Son
Hasten to the Cross. Repent and believe!
And be saved by the Crucified One!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
