Peace Be Still

Peace Be Still

Be still and know that I am God
Be still...be still I say
Come aside and rest awhile
Come aside and pray
I have plans for you my child
But you must understand
Every trial that comes your way
Comes from my loving hand

Time and chance happens to all
So don't be too suprised
When something unpleasant comes your way
To me it's not disguised
For I've designed your circumstance
It's part of life's that's puzzling
You'll know my reasons on the other side
For there there is no muzzling

But open for our eyes to see
We'll see it in full view
That blessed face of Jesus Christ
Who's led us hitherto
There the picture perfect scenes
Are fully summarized
No question then to why we're there
Our story finalized

So take each day with grace my child
Seek to do the Father's will
When the burdens grow greater remember this
Our Lord's blest "Peace be still"
Be still and know that I am God
Don't let anxiety ruin your day
For I am coming back again
To bring you home to stay!

So be still and know I'm God
Look around and see
Everything that now exists
Was created by me
Think it strange that I should utter
For I'm the Whomsoever will
I'm the Saviour of this world
So come aside...be still!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
