Written after parked all night sitting in my truck at a Petro Canada gas station with (two grandsons and a son) who had been helping me with a cleanup job a fierce snow storm came up. Worse that I have ever experienced and they likewise. We went off the road and praise God were able to recoup and continue on...fronr winshield was frozen and basically we were using the bank on the left side of the road to drive the twelve mile route which took us two hours...praise God for the Petro Canada gas station being opened so we could gas up and have our heater functional thank you Lord for your great goodness and mercy and the experiences that you bring us to and through...but nothing greater than that blessed experience of Salvation in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah what a Saviour!...Have a wonderful day guys! Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

What An Experience Is Salvation

What an experience is Salvation
The transformation of a soul
The Holy Spirit indwelling us
A revelation of feeling whole
God's righteousness our new attire
Clothed through the Lamb of God
His blood procured our endearment
A real love now for His Word

With the sense of being redeemed
My sins are all forgiven
Clothed and now in our right minds
Fitted and fit for heaven
With a new purpose for living
That others may come to know Him
And have a deliverance that's Heaven sent
That of victory over one's sin

His joy it follows me always
For Lord Jesus is my Friend
The mediator between God and I
And He will be until my end
Then begins my beginning
Transported by angels to glory
This is an excitement I can hardy contain
Praise God for Salvation's story!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
