Faith Is Still The Victory

Faith is still the victory
Hallelujah for the Lamb
Our Sacrificial offering
In Jesus Christ the Great I Am
Who took our sin debt to Calvary
In a wondrous stretched out fashion
And brought us near to the heart of God
Such was our Saviour's passion

And lifted up for all mankind
Was the true Light of the world
Pointing us to the power of love
That was founded in our God
For God so loved the world
That He gave His only begotten Son
To be our source of hallelujah's
For what great things that He has done

Who took old death and shook it fiercely
To the lifeline of our soul
And our wondrous God's amazing grace
Is topnotch in forgiveness's role!
Hallelujah what a Saviour
Who took our sins distress
And removed the power of it against us
In a timely manner no less

For up from the grave He arose...hallelujah
And removed old Satan's plan
And brought sure distribution of a lifeline of hope
Hallelujah for that Great I Am
Now the lid is off of its covering
Sin had lost its greatest power
For Christ's death became our glorious Resurrection
Hallelujah for Salvation's Hour!!!

Amen faith is still the victory
That overcomes the world
In our identification with Jesus Christ
The most important subject unfurled
For Christ in me is my hope of glory
That gets an honest hallelujah from me
For He has taken the penalty and the power of sin
And has offered  complete forgiveness  for me!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
