I've A Witness Bearing Spirit

I've A Witness Bearing Spirit

I've a witness bearing Spirit...hallelujah!
That now lives inside of me
I know the Maker of the universe
My soul is safe for eternity
Sin that held me once in bondage
A slave to its repetitious ways
Now... controls me no longer
For my heart is focused on His praise

Now heights of joy hold me captive
Forgiven and praise God I'm  redeemed
I know love as a constant companion
His Word means everything to me
He the Written Word as Saviour
Jesus is God and God is Son
O the glory of Salvation
My Creator...the just and holy One

There's a freedom to be having
There's a blood that cleanses sin
There's a power of Resurrection
There's a new life to begin
Are you longing for a changing
Your heart is heavy and distressed
Friend come find your want in Jesus
In Him you'll find you're truly blessed

The name that never loses telling
The name above all others recognized
The name that men still try
 to stop its usage
That name by God is highly prized
For by that precious name of Jesus
In that name shall men be raised
I shall give it highest honor
May Lord Jesus Christ be praised!

Hallelujah for that Saviour
Who came to earth to die for me
And to give me life abundant
When I trust Him totally
That you Lord for faith's transaction
When I confess and acknowledge sin
You come swiftly by Your Spirit
Giving proof You live within!

Hallelujah what a Saviour !

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
