As A Token Of Thanksgiving  Lord

As a token of thanksgiving Lord
I give Thee back my praise
And worship Thee for who You are
The Ancient of all days
For Thou hast made us wondrously well
That we might know Thy love
And continually enjoy true fellowship
As we embrace You and Your Word...

For You alone art worthy Lord
Worthy to be praised
For for our sin You provided Christ
And praise God...Him You've raised!
Who took our place at Calvary
And dealt with sin once and for all
Hallelujah for His precious blood
With such cleansing still available

Behold today Salvation reigns
And it's found in Christ's personhood
Who went about with a  purposeful heart
Just that of doing unto men all good
He was on a mission sent by His Father
And praise God was obedient to His will
And wrought for us a so great Salvation
For the which I still praise Him still!

Wonderful is who...who You are my Lord
For loving us in spite of our sin
And coming to us on a rescue mission
That we might know Your forgiveness deep within
And the manifestation by Your Holy Spirit
That the Son can set men free
I am redeemed and stand rejoicingly today
Because I repented and praise God I believed!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
