The Integrity Of God
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by Gary James Smith

Praise God He keeps His Word
They are always yea and amen
We can depend one hundred per cent
They'll remain until the end
He's the Author of our faith
The Finisher as well
Whomsoever believes as such
His life will surely be well

He spoke and the world appeared
He fashioned a body for man
Put a deep sleep upon him
And then gave him a woman
With orders now to propagate
And with a position blessed by God
Adam and Eve explored their world
And everything was good

But Satan as a serpent
Came into the garden one day
And cast doubt upon the words of God
And led dear Eve astray
Soon Adam followed suit
And he partook as well
Not knowing Satan was the father of lies
And the reason for the place called Hell

By one man's disobedience
We were introduced to sin
And death then passed upon all men
For we are born of the flesh as him
But God 's plan was not to be thwarted
In spite of the choices they made
He clothed them with a sacrificial offering
Perhaps a lamb was slain

Then offerings became a practice
To cover the sins of men
And priests were given positions
To mediate between God and men
But priests were not without failings
They continually disobeyed
And brought offerings to the altar
With blemishes on display

God was long suffering and patient
As He had Salvation in view
He had a perfect offering
And a sacrifice to be used
For the offerings of priests
Could never take away our sins
And continually fruitless remained
Until the offering sent by Him

Praise God one day the Lamb
The Lamb for sinner's slain
Partook of a human body
Lord Jesus was His name
He method was surreal
God became a man
And tasted death for everyone
Right back to the day of Adam

And put away sin's penalty forever
With His Word said..."It is finished"
The integrity of God always true to His Word
It shall never be diminished
My faith holds to that Word
With it I'm well satisfied
That my life has been completely changed
It can never be denied

My Life and Resurrection
He speaks and dead men rise
I know for sure I'll be with Him one day
At the meeting in the Sky
Of sin I have repented
I know the great I am
Clothed in the Righteousness of God
By the blood of the sacrificial Lamb!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
