Lord Show Us Mercy

Lord Show Us Mercy

Lord show us mercy and give us favor
In the sight of our fellowman
As you did with Joseph in the days of old
In the faith line of Abraham
Teach us to obey and do Thy will
To know Thy great faithfulness
And not to be a hindrance unto the work of God
To thwart Your determination to bless

Help us to rest upon the Hope
That is ours in your so great Salvation
To rejoice mightily in our hearts
And to keep faithfully at our station
For You have planted us where we are
To bloom for the God of grace
May we always be found in the wanting
To seek the Master's face

Your love has fastened our hearts to you
When have not want of another
Our bond of fellowship sealed by the Spirit
Your love is closer than any brother
To know the freedom of sins forgiven
That puts a Hallelujah within
Saved to seek another lost sinner
To tell of the joy found in Him

I've tasted and seen that the Lord is good
I've feasted upon His Word
I've rested in His pastures green
I've of His promises have been assured
I've been to the blood of His Mercy seat
I've made of its sure application
I've met the true Lover of my soul
I've established my Rock faithed foundation!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
