I Left the Cross

Justa thinking!

Spring is coming! Wonderful to think of the new life happening all around us in nature....flowers...trees..but even more wonderful to think about the new life that we can have in Jesus Christ...our Resurrected Saviour...our Life! O that family and friends would have this "spring" of life...a well of water...sringing up unto everlasting life...may this Easter be the time that it would blossom forth in someone's life....is that someone you? How is it with your soul...is it still dead in trespasses and sin...it can be made alive through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ! I remember back with clarity that transformation that came into my life when I understood the message of the cross! Yes, the way of the cross leads home! Have a wonderful day and give the cross some meditation time...what does it mean to you....He is Risen! Hallelujah, Christ arose!

WHEN I LEFT THE CROSS

When I left the cross I could not stand
No, no...I had to kneel!
And confess my sinfulness
And that God's love was real
He touched me by His Holy Spirit
I knew I was undone
Yet in spite of my rebellion
He saved me through the Son

I saw it now as clear as day
The night that held me fast
And all the darkness that engulfed me
Christ freed me from at last
His blood, His blood, His precious blood
Removed my stain of guilt
And washed me now as white as snow
And cleansed my heart from filth

Then glory came with revelation
Christ Jesus is the Lord
I instantaneously began to worship
My God who was the Word
Faith tolk hold... of my heart
And filled it full of grace
I knew beyond a shadow of doubt
For sin...He took my place!

Now forgiven...sanctified!
Set apart for God
What would you have me to do Lord
That question...I understood
Not my will but Thine be done
My heart began to pray
And still it does as way back then
At the beginning of each day

What glory that He rose again
His life is still to live!
And to do so enthusiastically
By the Spirit He gIves
Goodbye O fear of death....goodbye!
You bother me no more
I've entered into the kingdom of Heaven
Through Christ who is the Door!

For at the cross God's love was shown
Made manifest if you will
Where His only begotten Son
Was crucified...on Calvary's Hill
I pray you'll see that price He paid
Covered your sin as well
And that you too would come to believe
The Man who conquered Hell!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
