I Take The Scriptures Seriously

I Take The Scriptures Seriously

I take the Scriptures seriously
It's not just the word of men
But one hundred percent the Word of God
Hallelujah!...praise God!..amen!
God has given us a Book of Life
If in it...we'd only take a look
We'd find out about a wonderful Salvation
That the Lord for us undertook

What debt that we owe to our Maker
Who alone has given us
life
Who has the power to raise us to life again
And to deliver us from all of sin's  strife
Who the Word became in Humaness
We saw Him as Jesus Christ
The Author and Finisher of our faith
As the Lamb and our Sacrifice

Your Word O Lord is my delight
You gave It of highest favour
When You said Heaven and Earth will pass away
But Your Word will abide forever
To be judged by Your Word is daunting
How important for It to be read
For every thought and intent of the heart is discovered
Just...O Lord as You've said

Your Word can bring such deliverance
And lead us to saving faith
Instructing us in the way of the Lord
Believing all that He saith
It shall not return unto Him void
But bring accomplishment to His sent task
I trust that you'll take God's  Word seriously my friend
If you need understanding...He's there to ask...

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
