Freedom From Torment

Freedom From The Torment

Freedom from the torment and damnation of sin
Is readily available to those who trust in Him
Forgiveness of sin and the joy that it brings
No wonder a believer has great cause to sing

He's found in the Word
that faith will lead you too
His exemplary life was always lived in full view
No other man with credentials as such
Proved by His works how He really loved us

Hallelujah I've found Him
my Saviour and my Friend
Who has promised He'll be with me
Right up until the end
Then my new beginning on yon Heaven's shore
Guaranteed by His Spirit in Whom my faith is secure

To have all your insides cleansed so to speak
By the washing of Christ's blood shed upon dark Calvary
Faith as the channel by believing in God's Word
To you what now is normal to some others is absurd

Praise God for the fountain that's still flowing deep and wide
Grace and mercy in tandem to help us along our side
Hallelujah I have found Him!...praise God... yes!...amen!
None happier you will find than those who are born again!

Friend you can find Him and have this joy too
But you must be seeking as the Good Lord tells you too
Don't let sins saturation drown you in despair
But cry out to God and the Lord will meet you there
Cry out to God and the Lord will meet you there!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
