He Didn't Have To Say A Lot

He Didn't Have To Say A Lot

He didn't have to say a lot to say a lot
When Christ spoke an action was begun
There were no fence straddlers in His presence
Either you loved Him all or loved Him none
His miracles attested to His loving ways
He was all for healing ...and forgiveness by His word
The blind man saw, the deaf man heard, the lame man walked again
In fact he was walking ,then leaping, and all the while praising the Lord

He didn't have to say a lot to say a lot
That's a great spot for an Amen!
Who wouldn't be surprised to see these miracles arise
Such was the life of Jesus amongst men

He didn't have to say a lot to say a lot
Just you ask the woman at the well
She drank in that He was the Messiah
Amd hurriedly ran back to her home to tell
Zacceheus come down I must eat with you today
Zaccehus made haste and come down from the tree he did
What a great change that Christ would bring into his life that day
This is that wonderful change inside of men that to most men are hid

He didn't have to say a lot to say a lot
That's a great spot for an Amen!
Who wouldn't be surprised to see these miracles arise
Such was the life of Jesus amongst men

He didn't have to say a lot to say a lot
He laid down His own life for the sheep
When that utterance came "it is finished!"
He offered us all a hope upon belief
Wise thief who called upon Him just before he died
Now guranteed a presence there with the Lord that day
In Christ's wonderful faithfulness and love for sinners such
We each can have that glorious opportunity if we would but pray!

He didn't have to say a lot to say a lot
That's a great spot for an Amen!
Who wouldn't be surprised to see these miracles arise
Such was the life of Jesus amongst men

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
