Lord You Lived

Lord You Lived

Lord You lived as though You were dying
And carried that burden to the Cross
You couldn't help Yourself but to offer Salvation
Your obedience was a blessing to us
You spoke the truth in love
For love was what You were all about
And when You touched a soul by Your power
It most always evoked a shout!

The lame man walking and leaping gave praises
The blind man was found praising You too
Then there's the woman at the well Lord
Who just couldn't stop praising You
Lazarus had to hear it from others
For when he was just four days dead
The Lord Jesus called him forth from the tomb
I imagine a few Hallelujah's there were said...

Lord You lived to be a blessing
And even though cursing still came Your way
You offered up a prayer to Your heavenly Father
Father forgive them for what they are doing today
One thief on the Cross was watching intently
For this was his final hour
The good Lord gave him the faith to believe
And he experienced Resurrection's power!

How is it with you today my friend
In your life do you have true satifaction
Or are you just coping with life day by day
And making another sinful transaction
There's a God of love hovering above
Who's ready if you're hankering for a change
Call upon that name that can bring you a wonderful Salvation
Call upon the Lord Jesus's name!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
