The Blood Of Christ

The Blood Of Christ

The blood of Christ is precious blood
By it my sins were washed away
He made a river of forgiveness
When I trusted Him one day
My soul was so weighed down with sin
Which way to turn I knew not how
But in Him I found my true Deliverance
Who makes sins scarlett...white as snow

So bows my heart in adoration
What a love poured out for me
To give me grace as my partition
Because I believed on Calvary
There's not one sin that's insurmountable
Yes there's still power in the blood
Make today its application
His mercy will follow like a flood

Hallelujah for the blood
The Lamb of God's blest Sacrifice
Sin has lost its dominion over us
Praise Him who's...thrice Holy...thrice!
I have claimed the power of the blood
Behold the Lamb!...who lives in me
Who gives rejoicing in my spirit
As His blood washes over me...

Full Salvation!...O Hallelujah!
Not an ounce of love did He hold back
But to the death He went for my life
In a most unselfish act
One time I didn't...care one iota
To what the Word of God had laid out
But now that I know Christ as my Saviour
I have great cause to shout it out!

Sings my soul O Hallelujah
Hallelujah for God's Word
That brought me too true understanding
Of the significance of Christ's blood
Innocence for my guilt!
Sin demanded a death penalty
But praise God for the blood of Jesus
Sinner let His blood cleanse thee!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
