God's Word Say

God's Word Says

God's Word says he that winneth souls is wise
So I became a fisher of men
We had a pastor who implemented that truth
And passed it on to us amen!
So whenever we were in the pool of life
We cast our line out therein
Seeking to give out some gospel truth
That another lost soul we might win...

And hallelujah we saw some results
Even though there were some who got away
But praise God another fisher of men
Might catch that one on another day...
What a soul satisfying experience
First a nibble...then there's a bite
Then the line is slowly drawn in
The capturing is to our heart's delight

Praise God for the Salvation found in God's Word
Our Spiritual tackle box
We have so many lures to choose from
For whatever walks and what talks
There's an answer in there somewhere
It may need to be found through prayer
And just a little talk with Jesus
And you might find your baits hardware there!

I've pondered at the simplicity
That God uses to illustrate
He took some men who loved to fish
And then He set them all straight
There's a high and a holy calling
To the saving of the soul's of men
Take up your nets and follow me
And I will make you a fisher of men!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
