WITH FULL COHERENCY

We overheard the Saviour speak

From yonder Calvary's cross

Words with monumental meaning

Even though He was suffering loss

Words that spoke with deepest feeling

For He was nearing death

Words that gave to one a pardon

And determined eternal breath

His words of such weighty matter

And given for consideration

Proves the love that God the Son

Provided through Salvation

Asking forgiveness from the Father

To forgive His enemies

Enjoining John and  Mary His mother

Assuring those family ties

Love hung there in agony

And shed His precious blood

Yet took great pleasure knowing

This was acceptable to God

That Holy sacrificial Lamb

Obedient to His Father's will

Took God's wrath for sin upon Him

And bore Golgotha's Hill

Now new life and purposeful living

Is offered to each one

Who repent of sin and truly believe

In Jesus Christ God's Son

For here forgiveness has beginning

For by Christ we are forgiven

No longer dead in trespasses and sin

But "in Him" truly living

For on that cross..on full display

The Son of Righteousness

Who can give redemptive grace

And save a man " no less"

For He has power...all power is given

To Him on heaven and earth

To grant to any repentant sinner

The offer of "new birth!"

Take a fresh look at that cross

Determine your destination

Will it be with Christ the Lord

Or of "eternal damnation"

Focus now on eternity

Tis but a breath away

Listen with full coherency

"Come to Christ today!"

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
