Part Of Her In Our Heart And Part O
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Part Of Her In our Heart And Part Of Her In Our Arms

We lost a precious daughter
So inexpectedly
In the divine Providence of God
Who knows of our destiny
Who oftimes leaves us questioning
God what has happened here
And leaves us with a thread of grace
Through the which our grief to bear

So many circumstances
That God brought into play
She lived a checkered lifestyle
But for her it was His way
But we were happy to witness to
The love she had for God
And a heart for others
With the thought to do them good

Starr-ella was a special name
She took it well to heart
She would draw a star as an ensignia
Which still is a cherished art
Her life a shining example
A personality on the move
When Starr was in your presence
The atmosphere would improve

An indelible impression
Was left on those she met
Just the short time some had with her
Was something they didn't forget
And mothering her specialty
She loved each child dearly
I know she's left a deep impression
And they will miss her severely

Then to birth a new born
At the age of 42
Was a challenge placed upon her
But she saw that challenge through
We watched as she bestowed upon him
All of her love and charms
Praise God we have part of her in our heart
And part of her in our arms!

Love you Starr-ella...so long for now...praise God we'll see you later on the Son...y...side of life!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
