I Set My Praise

I Set My Praise

I set my praise on cruise control
And I rejoice for evermore
For I have found a so great Salvation
Through Christ who Is the door
I have entered the realm of the heavenlies
I'm a child of the most high God
Who bestows forgiveness upon repentance of sin
O praise ye O praise ye the Lord

In everything now I give thanks
For He is my
everything
Imagine being clothed in God's righteousness
Isn't that great cause to sing
His blood has cleansed what sin had stained
And has washed me as white as the snow
How can I stop praising Jesus Christ my Lord
When He has loved me so

He took the tragedy of death
And brought it to new life
When He arose up from the grave
It was to His Father’s delight
For men now had a ray of hope
And O how bright it shone
For before His very servants lived
Our Life and our Resurrection

Praises shall fill this heart of mine
Until they are overflowing
And everyone that lives nearby to me
Will attest to my praises showing
For I have found that well of water
That water of unending supply
That fills my cup with constant overflowing
For what a joy in my Lord have I
That fills my cup with constant overflowing
For what a joy in my Lord have I...

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
