Forgiveness for Our Sins
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

FORGIVENESS FOR OUR SINS

Forgiveness for our sins
He brings it in full measure
He holdeth back not an ounce
But giveth all His treasure
His precious own dear Son
The greatest sacrifice
That God could offer unto man
Himself our ransomed price

Hush, hush, ye rascal rebels
Hush, hush, ye satan's offspring
Behold the Lamb of God from Heaven
Behold the King of kings
The Light has shined into darkness
But darkness comprehendeth it not
All the ways of men to come to God
On his own terms, all are fraught

Who is this King of Glory
Who saveth by His grace
Tis our blessed Lord Jesus Christ
Whom we shall see face to face
Those drops of blood for offering
He bled and died for sin
Tasted death for everyman
So man could be forgiven

That thorn crowned brow He beareth
Behold the son of man
Now our High Priest in Heaven
Our royal diadem
From whence He bids us welcome
Those who sinner's are
Who in true repentance trust
And travel by faith afar

I rest me from my labour
That I had tried to do
But simply trusted in Jesus Christ
To see this sinner through
And oh what charm He brought me
When I came to the cross
I saw my works and all therein
Were all, all I say, but dross

Then dropped so fast those shackles
That bound me to my sin
And I was free, free at last
To live new life in Him
And oh that wondrous story
That seems has just begun
I tell with joy, over and over
Trust in the crucified One

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
