Lord You Saw

Lord You Saw

Lord You saw me bow the knee
When there was no one else around
And You sent Your Holy Spirit as a Witness
That now I was Glorybound
Heaven came down and thrilled my soul
I knew the absolute joy of Salvation
That Christ was my Saviour, and God was my God
Hallelujah for that faith transaction

Lord You cure the ailiments of hearts
That are broken and engulfed in sin
You do Your great Physician work
And bring sure cleansing within
Your blood applied at Calvary
Has the power of sufficiency
And provides a wonderful redemption Lord
That we might enjoy true liberty

Lord You know me in my weakness
But praise God in Christ I am strong
For I've drank from His fountain of blessing
And His grace is my heralding song
Hallelujah I know that my Redeemer lives
And praise God He's my Resurrection
Though I'll never be perfect down here on earth
He'll present me to God in perfection!!!

So let all praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ
My everlasting hope and my life
Who has given me an attitude of eternal gratitude
And has delivered from sins power and strife
Hallelujah for that day when mercy came down
And showed me God's forgiveness with love
Death too now has lost its grip on my soul
For hallelujah I'll be transported above!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
