Lord Some Songs Ignite

Lord Some Songs Ignite

Lord some songs ignite a fire
That slowly turns to flame
And takes my soul to a special place
When I think upon your name
For my life's so different now
Since I have been redeemed
My heart knows right well Your
forgiving grace
Praise God for Calvary

I'm overwhelmed with Your love
Your response to us sinner's such
If only others could come to know
How You love us so very much
When we deserved Your wrath
You kept keeping on with grace
Until we saw our sin for what it was
We could not help but humble ourselves
And to own Your worthy cause

In so many minor things
We major in complaints
Making mountains out of molehills
Definitely not becoming of saints
O help us Lord to magnify
That name of Jesus Christ
There was none other who You deemed worthy enough
As payment for sin's sacrifice

Enjoy my soul the permeating grace
Of the songs of a soul set free
Lifting up the name of Jesus Christ
Who guaranteed our eternity
My heart can't but help to leap to praise
And praise Him in joyful song
For when my ears hear another blest hymn
I can't help but sing along

O may He become your Hallelujah
You can find Him in the Word
He pointed the way to Calvary's Cross
Where "It is finished!" was heard
There's no work for you to do
He did all that was
necessary
He shed His blood that you might live
Make today your Salvation story

Put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ
Look to the Lamb today
Call upon the name of the Lord
And you will be wonderfully saved
Put some Heaven in your soul
You'll taste none better of other
Come on and join the Hallelujah crowd
Repent and be saved sister, brother!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
