My Eternal Salvation

My Eternal Salvation

My eternal Salvation is the trophy on my heart
Praise God for the Lord Jesus Christ
He's my heart's centre piece I love to brag of Him
For my soul's relief He paid sins highest price
I have a sure foundation
On Christ the solid Rock
Creation's Creator displayed in God the Son
The Word becoming flesh to dwell Himself amongst us
And of all who have believed on Him
He has not lost a single one

O I love to magnify and praise His blessed name
He who came to conquer sin
And raise Himself again
His reality of death was witnessed
There was no doubt about it
But so was His glorious Resurrection
And praise God I'm going to shout it
He who walked on water
And once turned some of it into wine
Definitely has my full attention
Show me another on this earth
Another of like kind

With love that holds one speechess
Behold the love of God
Who terminated sins deadly power
Through enduring God's chastening rod
He love for me held Him fast
To a Cross of Calvsry
With a love...such wondrous love
For a sinner such as me
And never let go will my Lord
For He careth for His own
It chills me with the very thought of that
Chills me to the bone

Whether in sunshine or whether in rain
He can dismiss every cloud
And bring a buoyancy to my Spirit
Where praising is totally allowed
Not a distant stranger but a Friend who standeth fast
The blessings of full trust in Him
Is a treasure that shall last
Awake O soul to righteousness
Behold...behold thy King
Put your saving faith in Him
Ignite your soul to sing

Just yes!...just speak His name
Begin your soul's needed journey
Find the freeing of forgiveness's power
That will last you to eternity
Love that's God's strongest glue
Developed from earth's beginning
Has a bonding beyond compare
That helps us in soul winning
Look around you...see a face
It has a destiny of Heaven
Show another from God's Word
How they can have a new beginning

For time and for eternity
He's in it for the long haul
Why rob yourself of so great Salvation
When today on Him you can call
Feel the Spirit's drawing power
It is God's firm Connection
Trying to bring you to the Cross
Upon your sin's conviction
Call upon that blessed name
That blessed name of Jesus
Know God's kingdom in your heart
For it's there that He can reach us

My I arrest you with the thought
And hold you in captivation
For a brief moment of reflectfulness
In regards to your soul's Salvation
This moment...this very moment yes!
Could be the time for God to bless you
Can you bring your will to its surrendering
And here I'm not messing with you
Faith has a proven reality
It's another day the Lord has made
Set your plans towards His affection
Where the offer of Salvation is laid!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
