Salvation Is A Personal Thing

Salvation Is A Personal Thing

Salvation is a personal thing
Each one must receive their own
Through our repentance of sin and faith in Christ
We're accepted by God...and God alone
Doesn't have to take place in a building
For God knows just where we are
For His greatest work of grace is done
In the hidden man of the heart

You know of your yearnings to know Him
The wanting for change in your life
Not knowing where or whom to turn too
To rid you of all of your strife
Well there's a welcome mat laid out for you
Seek ye the Lord while He may be found
Call upon that precious name of Jesus Christ
And Hallelujah!...you'll be Glorybound!

Your sin nature will hold you back
From making a decision for Him
The devil's not willing to give up on a soul
That seeks to be born again
But praise God there's victory's assurance
For whomsoever calls upon the Lord shall be saved
For greater then will He be... who lives within you
For...Hallelujah! He conquered the grave!

Salvation is to be found in a person
We know the Lord Jesus Christ is His name
Who went to the Cross for the sins of the world
There's a forgiveness for you there to claim
There's a family awaiting your arrival
It is called the family of God
Repent of your sin...put your trust in Him
And you'll be saved according to God's Word!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
