I Celebrate My Salvation

I CELEBRATE MY SALVATION

I celebrate my Salvation

I thank God everyday

For giving me eternal life

For showing me the Way

For forgiveness power

I can now forgive

For I, have been forgiven

Truly now I live!

Sin has no dominion

Over my blood bought soul

Praise God for His Spirit

That helps to keep me whole

My vision heavenly focused

For that coming day

When the trump of God shall sound

And I'm up up and away

Still with a heart of passion

Please Lord save the lost

Use me as a vessel cleansed

By the blood of Calvary's cross

Looking still to that cross

Where mercy grace had found me

Never returning to that state

Where sin once had bound me

I'm free yes indeed I'm free!

I'll tell that blessed story

Never to fear old death again

He's bringing me to glory

Songs of joy bounce of this soul

For Jesus lives within

For such Salvation....oh so great!

Gives cause for...celebration!

So praise You Lord... praise You

I praise Thy blessed name

For when man finds new life in you

He is forever changed

We cannot but keep telling

That gospel message dear

Jesus Christ died for sinner's

He is the answer here!

Seek Him while He may be found

Call upon His name

Cry out to our God almighty

Confess your need of Him

Repent from former sin

Have faith believe the Son

Joy will take up residence

Beginning your...celebration!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
