In Hell The Party Is Over

In Hell The Party Is Over

In hell the party is over
Weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth
Where the fire is not quenched
and the worm dieth not
And darkness forever bequeathed
Remember the day that you said
" all my friends will be there!"
Well guess what!..you're in for a surprise
They too will have torment to bare

Sin is a hard taskmaster
It fools...it deceives, and it lies
It promises you the best for the present
But pleasures run out of supply
Don't fall for the path of the broadway
For it's the way of destruction
The love of the world,  the lust of the flesh and the eyes
These are the ways of corruption

But set your affection on things above
There's a pathway that leads to God
Straight and narrow is the way that leads to life
Read about it in God's Word
For God is love and God loves you
Even in spite of your sin
So much so that He gave His Son
So you might enjoy Heaven with Him

So what a tradeoff wouldn't you say
I'd take Heaven at any time
Then to be cast from Hell into the Lake of fire
That will burn throughout all time
May your repentance begin today
While still you can breathe you can hope
I'd rather have Jesus than any other
Is there another!!!???...None!!!...Nope!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
