A Bulletproof Gospel

A Bulletproof Gospel

We have a bulletproof gospel

There's nothing as strong as the Word

God spoke and the world became

And one day He became the Word

And the Word became flesh and dwelt

Amongst His own Creation

And lived the life and died the death

To become our Resurrection

God Himself as Jesus Christ

O what glory and what wonder

To take our very penalty for sin

And cast old death asunder

Awake my soul to righteousness

Give honor unto thy Lord

Who still sustains His universe

By the power of His Word

The Word that by faith can save us

For it has all sufficiency

The Cross the reckoning structure

Praise God for Calvary

Where the blood of Innocence

Took care of all of our guilt

And offered pardon and forgiveness

To whomsoever will

For whomsoever will may come

The offer still has vacancy

If you're alive my friend there's hope

Check out the Word and see

For Christ died, the Just for the unjust

To reconcile us unto God

The Word is still alive as ever

Its bulletproofness understood

Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God

What a blessed combination

For whomsoever shall call upon Christ

Will experience the joy of Salvation

Repentance the gateway to Heaven

The turning away from your sins

And turning to God with wholehearted faith

Is when your new life begins

Amen for a bulletproof gospel

There's nothing that can dispel its power

Complete I am in Jesus Christ

Praise God He's still the Man of the hour

Yours and my name may be forgotten

Never to be remembered again

But not Jesus Christ's...no not ever!

For yesterday, today, and forever His name will  remain the same

O praise Him praise God Hallelujah

That God spoke and the world became

He breathed into man the breath of life

Who then became a companion and friend

And though sin broke up that fellowship

When Adam and Eve were deceived

There's a sure bonding in Jesus Christ

That moment a sinner believes!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
