We Have Testers
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

We Have Testers

We have a concoction of testers

Pizza's...whiskey...and wine

Items also of more solid things

Automobiles and trucks of like kind

But the Greatest tester of all things

From the get go...right from the start

Is the tester of the finished product

The Tester of the heart

He knows it's deceitful above all things

And desperately wicked as well

And if it's not changed by the Spirit of God Will live eternally in Hell

 So love beyond all measure

Love who has God as it's kind

Took the step to stoop down to men

And sighten the eyes that were blind

And opened some eyes has He for sure

To ascertain the glory of God

And made a way plain unto all men

Through the preaching of the Word

The preaching of the Cross to them that perish

Is foolishness says God's Word

But it is a blessing of monumental awareness

To those who believe on the Lord

I'm blessed in that I have tested

And found His Word to be meat and drink

It took me from a meandering lifestyle

And actually caused me to really think

Of the Cross on the hill called Mount Calvary Where the Saviour was Crucified

I saw my sin in the light of His Word

How I too...Him had denied

But praise God for the enlightenment

Of the redemption through His shed blood

Innocence hanging that day for me

 Enduring the wrath of God

So glad in the truth I've invested

And found it a blessing to me

I've tried Him and trusted and tested

Praise God He gives liberty!

How is your heart today my friend

If you found it to be tested by God

Have you found it as He has labeled it

Deserving of His chastening rod

Have you any room for Jesus

For there's room at the Cross for you

Make that monumental decision today

Ask the Lord to live inside you

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
