Lord You've Clothed Us

Lord You've Clothed Us

Lord You've clothed us with flesh and blood
And have given us a spirit
That we might ascertain the love of God
And Your Word?...Adhere to it!
Our manual of life O Immanuel...
How quick and powerful it is
To lead us to find everlasting life
That our soul's might find true bliss

You our offering of Sacrifice
Holiness to the Supreme
For not one sin were You ever convicted of
While You walked on earth amongst men
Your love shone so brightly Lord
It could not be hid from eyes
Yet for all the good that You ever did
It just lead to Your demise

But Your ending was our beginning
We feast on Your bread and water
You Lord are our Spiritual nourishment
You've fed us on a love filled platter
You gave Your all for us to know
That in the Cross was true satisfaction
For by it came through Your shed blood
The glory of Your Resurrection!

Now men had a glorious hope
That sin so long had diminished
But You in Your being the Light of the world
Gave glad declaration!..."It is finished!"
Little did we know of the great significance
Of the utterance You gave that day
Until praise God...three days later
When the stone was rolled away

Now Thou...our Rock of Salvation
The Rock of Ages cleft for me
Has given me a faith that shall not be moved
For I live now with Eternity!
Your Holy Spirit my Satisfier!
For You Lord live in me!
Clothed in the very Righteousness of God
Enjoying living now most immensely

What a satisfaction in Salvation
The Lord Jesus has paid it all
Mine is to only repent and believe
For Calvary covered it all!
All of my sin...every kit and
caboodle
Gone!...forgiven!...grace has supplied...
Joy has taken up this heart's residence
For the Lord Jesus is now  my Supply!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
