May My Life

May My Life

May my life be a light for Jesus Christ
Some salt along life's way
That others may see a difference in me
In how I act and what I say
Front and center may be Lord Jesus
Who gave His life for me
Unashamed to share His Word
That sets a sinner free

None other name under Heaven is given
By the which man might be saved
Who proved His worth as our Resurrection
When He conquered over the grave
He put to death the power of death
Hallelujah for that Son
Who loves to hear a repentant heart
Call upon the Crucified One!

My praises have become repetitious
For I cannot thank Him enough
For His forgiveness of my sin
For His grace and His mercy trough
I've come to that fountain of blessing
And partook of His Salvation for me
And it's spilled over with such an abundance
I must tell others of Calvary!

Free!...free!...This gift is free!
God's offer of eternal life
If we humble ourselves and pray and seek God's face
We'll turn from our sin and our strife
So great a Salvation is on the table
Who could ask for anything more
No exit sign but in bold letters "Enter!"
Through Christ who is the door!

No other name more maligned than His
The devil has saw to that
Listen to men and women using it in cursing
Wow!...what's really up with that?!!!
His name is wonderful...the Saviour of the world
Who Himself paid sins highest price
In case you've never heard of Him
His name is Jesus Christ!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
