Psalms And Hymns And Spiritual Songs

Psalms and hymns and Spiritual songs
Our musical repertoire
No ending of the joyfulness
When our heart is tarrying there
For when thinking upon the One who died
Who brought us such hopefulness
Music pours forth with a healing balm
And fills us with peacefulness

Christ in us O hallelujah!
The miracle of our new birth
Born again by the Spirit of God
The greatest transaction on earth
For when sin is identified
And we truly acknowledge our state
Separated from a Holy God
Eternal damnation our fate

But the Word of God has a hidden nugget
Seek and you shall find
There's a Salvation like none other
Afforded to human kind
The Lord Jesus Christ sins Sacrificial offering
The sinless...spotless...Lamb
Helps us hone in on the realization
That we must be born again!

Then tis music to our ears
That glad and joyous refrain
That whomsoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
Is never the same again
Forgiveness begins the strains of melody
That has been wanting so long to sing
And an embracement as to the love of the Saviour
Who is now our Everything!

O hallelujah praise that Lord
To Him who stirs our hearts to sing
And give back to God our heartfelt praises
For His victory over sin
To take death to the Cross of shame
Fastened fast by nails
Then to release the hold that it had on us...
Jesus never fails!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
