"Justa thinking"! Was at a church service this morning and the visiting
Pastor was preaching on family revival.. Great message... So good as a matter of fact that when he finished we thought that it was about 12:30 or 12:45 and turns out it was 1:45...hallelujah what a message.. Time really flew and we enjoyed every minute of the preaching.. During his message he mentioned(actually it was the pastor introducing him that mentioned).. We outta celebrate our Salvation.. I swiftly texted that thought onto my cell phone... Entitled

CELEBRATION OF SALVATION

You know we celebrate many things in life.. New Jobs.. Promotions.. Marriage.. Graduations.. Sports accomplishments... New homes... New friends... Etc.. Etc... But have you ever had cause to Celebrate your Salvation.. Or are you still not saved? The Lord Jesus Christ said that we must be born again! It is a spiritual birth brought about by faith in Believing the Word of God in what it has to say about sin and Repentance... CHECK it out for yourself in the Bible.. The gospel of John in the New Testament is a great beginning.. Find a Bible and begin at chapter one and read it right through to the last chapter praying all the time as you are doing so (God if there is such a thing as being born again by Your Spirit please reveal Lord unto my heart and mind and enable me to make a decision for Jesus Christ).. This I ask in Jesus name... Amen!

A CELEBRATION OF SALVATION

I'm a happy camper since I've been born again
My sins forgiven and peace within my soul
In the Lord Jesus Christ I've found a precious Friend
Joy accompanying me wherever I go
I cannot help but praise the One who died for me
And keeps me by His Spirit satisfied
Burdened in my heart to see another saved
I couldn't want for more if I tried

I know my Redeemer lives and watches over me
Angels sent to watch over me as well
In the way He leads me I will follow on
Praise God for my deliverance from Hell
Praying to Him daily trusting in His care
Set apart to do His blessed will
What would You have me to do Lord
Comes directly from my heart
Changed forever because of Calvary 's Hill

Immediately I pray upon my awakening hour
Lord be my strength and my Provider
Help me to trust You and lean not to my ways
But Lord may I praise and lift You higher
For You're the Rock of my defence
There in every situation
What a joy to know and have
A celebration of Salvation!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
