What A Revival

What A Revival

.
What a revival happened in Philippi one day
And it came about
at the midnight hour
Paul and Silas were singing praises and praying unto God
And the Spirit was working with power
The prisoners heard them...as if they couldn't! They thought...these guys must be nuts
But as sure as all get out they remained listening
And thought they have a lot of guts

All of a sudden the prison was shaken
And shaken as never before
Each door sprang open and their shackles fell off
Their jaws about dropped to the floor
The jailer was wont to do himself in
For he was in charge of the lot
But paul cried out..."do thyself no harm!"
For everyman is in the  same spot

This evoked a cry from the jailer
Sirs...what must I do to be saved
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ said Paul
And thou and thy house will be saved
That very same hour he took them home
To minister to their bruises and wounds
There was a definite conversion here
On belief of the gospel sound

Friend there's a Salvation awaiting for you
Believe on the Lord and be saved
Set your affection on things up above
And you'll never have fear over the grave
For life everlasting is a gifting to those
A gifting to those who believe
How about it friend it could be your midnight hour
Do not hesitate to receive!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
