God's Speciality

God's Speciality

God's specialty is love
He serves it on a platter
Of all the things in this old world
It's love that really matters
Imagine how much He has loved us
In the blessed sending of His Son
To deal with sin on our behalf
O such a loving One!

Death was our sure destination
Because of the damnation of sin
When we were helpless to deal with it ourselves
Praise God that He sent Him
A sinless...sinless! Sacrifice
Hallelujah for that Lamb
Who displayed God's love most wonderously
So that we might believe on Him

His miracles were astounding
Just imagine that you were there
To see when the blind man received his sight
To observe when the deaf man could hear
The lame man walking and leaping and praising God
Love was surely taking place
Just the by-product of a loving Saviour
Extending to men His grace

And still...still!... there at Calvary
God gave His extension of love
In allowing the death of His own dear Son
And the shedding of His precious blood
The earth received drops of Holiness
Never was such precious blood spilt
Come with your burdens to Calvary
And become a whomsoever will!

The Resurrection proves God's love for us
For up from the grave Christ arose
To offer in person everlasting life
And victory over all of His foes
Now we are never alone again
For Christ is our Saviour and Friend
Not just in this world have we that surety
But praise God in that world without end!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
