O What Folly Of Men

O What Folly Of Men

O what folly of men
In their misunderstanding of God
They bypass the way of faith
As if in themselves everything is understood
Not retaining God in their thoughts
He gave them over to a reprobate mind
As fools wise in their own eyes
They become the blind leading the blind

For the Lord is a God of knowledge
And He's wrapped up in His Word
Everything we need to get to know Him
To know that living Lord
For the love of God is in Jesus Christ
If you see Him you have seen the Father
Take heed my friend to the truths of the Word
And your knowledge will go much farther

You can know the very God of Heaven
Who from Heaven came down as the Son
You can know the One who died for your sin
The Holy Spirit will give revelation
Take His Word as His Word should be taken
Delight thyself in His Word
Appropriate by faith His Word to your heart
And your Salvation will be assured

Amen there's power in the blood
Of that Lamb who for sinner's was slain
Do you know who you are or where you're going
How's your knowledge been helping you friend
Praise God there's a Resurrected Saviour
Again we will soon be celebrating His birth
This is where true knowledge finds its completion
In the true Lord of both Heaven and Earth!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
