Lord Give Us Spiritual Stamina

Lord Give Us Spiritual Stamina

Lord give us the spiritual stamina
To live as You said we could
And not to have the fear of men
But to live by faith as You said we should
For You've not given us a Spirit of fear
But of love...and power...and of a sound mind
As we face each trial and tribulation
And manifold problems of every kind

Praise God You are our refuge
A shelter in the time of storm
And in the midst of many a cold shoulder
Praise God You have kept us warm
Your Spirit is our blessed Companion
Praise God we are never alone
And when Satan tries to deflate our faith
Hallelujah in You we are strong

For You are God Almighty
And with joy we Praise Thy name
For ever since the angels heralded Your presence
Hallelujah that Praise remains!
O what a name is Jesus Christ
Earth's Redeemer come in the flesh
Who bestowed such love everywhere He went
And became sins Sacrifice!

Still exalted Saviour!
And soon our coming King
For when God says " It's wrap up time!"
We'll be thankful that we trusted in Him
For where man puts his
faith in signatures
To give the witness to some facts
Praise God for those who have trusted in God's Word
And that have believed His every act

My faith has found its resting place
And its testing place as well
For I know beyond a shadow of a doubt
That I'll not wind up in Hell
For I know that my Redeemer lives
My hope of glory is in Christ
For I've repented of my sins
And have accepted His Sacrifice!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
