What Will It Take

We Are Given The Time

We are given the time to prepare for time
When time shall be no more
And we enter into our eternity
Of the which there is two doors
One is the Door to heaven
Made possible through Jesus Christ
The other is through the gates to Hell
To those refusing His sacrifice

Praise God I've entered my haven of rest
I've believed in Christ the Son
I'm ready to head home anytime soon
I wish the same for everyone
I've made my reservation sure
His Word my guarantee
For whomsoever shall call upon His name
Hallelujah He'll make you free

Where old death is banished forever
He defeated sin and death and Hell
Now we can say beyond a shadow of doubt
I know with my soul... It is well!
Hallelujah for that Saviour
Who... when I was lost and undone
He came and took my punishment for sin
And forgave me for each one

The grave could not hold Him hostage
For He was innocence Supreme
Not one sin laid to His charge
From every transgression He was clean
God's righteousness revealed in Christ
Through the Lamb for sinner's slain
His blood... His precious, precious blood
There's power in Jesus name

And in that name of Jesus Christ
Who praise God is Lord of all
I enjoy embracing His Resurrection
To that One Who will never fall
Yes I'm in Christ and He in me
Praise God He has arisen
He is the Door by the which to enter
If you want to go to Heaven

Today if you will hear His voice
Harden not your heart
But humble yourself in the sight of the Lord
And say to sin... Depart!
Make an active admonition
To begin today to pray
God will bless you for your effort
Salvation will come your way!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
