From The Very Beginning

From the very beginning Lord
You spoke this world into being
In your act of Creation
And your making of human beings
The deep roots of Salvation
That was planned in the beginning as well
For man's eternal preservation
From the precuneusness of Hell

What blessed power in that Word
That men might find You God
We see the handiwork of your Creation
What You've made You have called good
But when Satan...the father of lies
Began swelling up with pride
You had to cast him from your kingdom
Now amongst us he still abides

He couldn't wait to tempt in the garden
He just couldn't wait to deceive
Sure enough soon after man's making
He came to Adam and Eve
In the guise as an angel of light
To make men as wise as he
He got them to question the personhood of God
And to usurp His authority

God had given a test of obedience
To allow for Adam's will
To will to be obedient to the will of God
And follow after Him still
But we know the dire consequences
As result of his choice that day
We're loaded with obituary columns
Where our name will appear one day

Sin had had its introduction
Now man was doomed to die
Just by one man's disobedience
Was the furtherance of death's supply
But God was gracious to Adam
Even though they were deceived and sinned
He took the process of redemption
And provided a covering for them

That began the sacrifice process
As an offering for sin
The blood of bulls and goats was required
As the offering back then
But that just pointed forward too
The Lamb who for sinner's was slain
Hallelujah for the wonderful plan of Salvation
Even before this world began

God instituted the law
To give us a knowledge of sin
To expose us to our need of Salvation
And praise God to trust in Him
What a love that set in the process
To love God as we ought to
To give us His Spirit when we repent
And help us to walk anew

There's no escaping...you're a sinner my friend
You very nature proves it
You are just a descendant of Adam
No matter if you don't believe it
Where did you come from if not from God?
Really!!!...a fish or a monkey!!!
Or just a product of the big bang theory?
That would be honky donkey!!!

Praise God for the Uppertaker
Who undertook to deliver from sin
With the greatest heart of compassion in the Universe
And still!...You won't trust in Him?!!!
Sin's debts been paid... O Hallelujah!
There's life in the Crucified One!!!
Why not will yourself to come today
And know His glorious Salvation !!!

Don't let Satan deceive you friend
You might think you're stronger than Adam
But how is your attention factor with God
What fraction of time do you give Him
Life doesn't wait for anyone
We're on our way to an eternity
Who will be your Father
God!!!....or will it Satan be?!!!

You have the decision of choice
You know you use it every day
Where shall I go...what will I do
What are the words I will say
Now take that choice to a higher realm
What is your choice about God
Isn't it time to give Him some time
And check out His story in His wonderful Word!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
