It's So Wonderful

It's So Wonderful

It's so wonderful to find a friend in the Lord
One in whom the Lord has brought together
Your companionship is bonded in the strength of the Lord
And the Holy Spirit binds your heart's forever
You know it's of God in the unity displayed
Two heart's in agreement with God's love
And as iron sharpening iron takes place
The solidarity of it all is of God

It's a rarity in this day and age
To find someone of like precious mind
Non judgemental in the biblical way
But patient...forgiving...loving and kind
Ready to hear both sides of a story
Before making any judgement call
Then waiting on the Lord in His offering of grace
For the settlement of it all...

So thankful am I Lord for such a friend
That You have orchestrated for me
A co-laborer Lord in the harvest field
Who's focused on eternity
Who has the heart of a servant
Putting others needs before their own
And living their life through the life that's within...
And pleasing our Lord on the Throne

A prayer partner in the work of the Lord
One of like heart and like passion
Ready to work alongside in the harvest field
With the same commitment and compassion
We saw it in David and Jonathan
A godly friendship indeed
And to have such a one on this side of Heaven
Is a real blessing from God indeed!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
