Death Is A Powerless Foe

Death Is A Powerless Foe

Death is a powerless foe
To those who believe on Jesus Christ
For living inside of us is His Spirit
As our Resurrection and our Life
And that same Spirit that raised up Christ
Will raise us up too...amen!
Hallelujah for that saving faith
When we become born again...

His Word is our assurance...praise God!
For His Word abides forever!
And this blessed hope is guaranteed
To those who become believer's!
O for the discovery of this truth
That the truth can set men free
And the truth is greatly personified
In the Man of Calvary!

Who backed up His words by His life
That's truly the sum of it
And put His own life on the line
And died for our sin to wit!
No greater power but in that blood
That washes sins away
And brings a cleansing never before known as such
God's righteousness as our Stay!

He's become my hallelujah!
And I'm constantly in praise
Of the One who gave me eternal life
And walks with me each day!
As His Word says...I'm a new creature
For Christ now lives in me
I'm in the same position as the thief on the Cross
Hallelujah my Redeemer sets free!!!

My faith has found its resting place
In the everlasting arms of love
Who will carry me safely to Heaven's portal
Hallelujah for the blood!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
