We Were Built For Tears

We Were Built For Tears

We were built for tears
In the testings of our life
Emotional creatures made by God
Who became our Sacrifice
Packaged by our Maker
To know joy and true compassion
Two entities that distribute tears
Emitted in like fashiòn

Even the Lord Jesus wept
In His times of prayer
And at the death of Lazarus
He also had tears there
We all know what it is to cry
We've wept ourselves its true
We know just what weeping means
That grief can lead us too

Only God...He knows the depth
That broken hearts can bear
And giveth grace as an antedote
In our times found there
Tears become a welcoming friend
In our times of mourning
Remember...weeping may endure for a night
But joy comes in the morning!

We're to weep with those who weep
And to rejoice with those who rejoice
Grief may come with the former
Where an event may give the latter a voice
I've experienced tears floodgates
When weeping in grief..over and over
When tears have washed my grief away
And grace has extended favor

We will never empty tears reservoir
For they are part and parcel
Of the life we live down here
Part of our emotional arsenal
We know the pangs that sin has brought
Of our own experiences galore
One day we'll arrive in Gloryland
Where tears shall be no more!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
