To Be In The Moment

To Be In The Moment

To be in the moment...praise God
For what  a Saviour have I
To absorb the thought of how much He loved me
So much so that He was willing to die
So far beyond my imagination
That I scarcely can take it in
To first have the feeling of the weight of my sin
But now I am completely forgiven!

To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
Gives the soul an awakening for sure
For the transformation from darkness to light
Is a treasure that I now hold dear
To know that I'm a child of God
By having saving faith in His Son
What a glory Hallelujah abides
In the soul of this repentant one

Some people say that they have no sin
Therefore no need of a Saviour
But let them read the Word of God
And they'll come to see a change there
Don't compare yourself among others
As a test of your goodness state
But a wiser comparison would be how do you stack up
With the righteousness that the Lord Jesus had...

For all have sinned and have fallen short
Of the righteousness that God demands
And it's only by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
That God's righteousness is placed in our hands
Christ in me my hope of glory
And O what a glory it is
To know for sure that I'm on my way to Heaven
Definitely fills my heart with great bliss!

Amazing grace...how sweet the sound
When John Newton sang that song
Can you imagine the thrill of his heart
To know that now he was part of that throng
That when the roll is called up yonder
That praise God he would be there
For the greatest meeting that any man could ever experience
Is at the meeting in the air!

To be in this world but not of it
To live in the heavenlies so to speak
No believing heart could ever stay silent
Who's been ministered to at Lord Jesus feet
Walk some miles in Christ's sandals
Follow Him in the Holy Writ
I promise you that it will change your life
When you discover the truth of it

He is here in His presence...hallelujah!
As the sweetest name I know
For none other can take the blackness of our sin
And wash us as white as snow
Let Him bring an interruption from your regular routine
Seek ye the Lord while He may be found
Come now with a repentant heart
And be assured of being glorybound

What have you got to lose?...everything!!!
And maybe your family too
For God holds us all accountable in our living
As to regards to Christ...what will you do?!!!
You've put it off far too long now
Don't let Satan deceive you still
There's an old rugged Cross awaiting your attention
The work of Christ on Calvary's hill

He bled and died but Hallelujah He arose!
There's power in the blood of that Lamb
A river of grace and forgiveness is still flowing
Through Jesus the great I Am
He hid my soul in the cleft of a rock
The Rock of Ages cleft for me
Now in His strength I can stand steadfast
For He stood steadfast for me!

To be in the moment...O praise Him!
Love manifest in the flesh
The love of God revealed in Jesus Christ
Heaven didn't hold back from its Best
To know Him as a personal Saviour
To be sealed forever by the Spirit of God
In the moment I say again Hallelujah
For I've believed and have trusted God's Word!

Now I am constantly abiding
Day in and day out my friend
With the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ
The verified sinner's Friend
Need someone to go the extra mile
To stay up with you in prayer
There never more was found such an unfailing Friend
The Lord Jesus wll meet you there!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
