Bought And Paid For

Bought and paid for...hallelujah!
Hallelujah for the Cross Purchased...prized...possession of Christ
Praise God how glorious!
That God would take a sinner
Though unworthy he may be
And cloth him in garments of His own righteousness
Hallelujah!...Glory be!

Christ in me my hope of glory
What a wonderful transformation
When I repented of my sin
And received His so great Salvation
Forgiveness's freedom flooded my soul
O what cleansing power
The blood of Jesus washing away my sin
Such a soul satisfying hour..

Now forgiveness poured forth from me
That I never knew could exist
All of the anger and resentment I once carried
Now was completely dismissed
I saw each day now in a new light
For I knew the Light of the world
Whenever I awoke He was there
As He promised in His Word!

Eternal life as a present possession
All because Jesus passed by!
And went to an old rugged Cross for me
To give me a life that satisfies!
Hallelujah I have found Him...
And have experienced His Calvary's love
No greater now...motivation for service
Than to tell others about the Lord!

What a Saviour is Jesus Christ!
The true lover of men's souls
He knows the results of unbelief
And causes His servants to toil
To labour in the harvest fields
For they are ripe to gather
Brothers pack your lunch pails
And let us go to the fields together!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
