What A Memory

What A Memory

What a memory has our God
For there's nothing He forgets
He's smarter than the greatest computer
He personally has all the facts
From before our birth to our demise
Yes God He knows it all
Why He even gives consideration too
The tiniest sparrow's fall

Not a tear that leaves our eyes
That God doesn't know the cause
Even the tears of insincerity
The reason for why they was
He's got your number that's for sure
There isn't any doubt about it
And if you get saved and find the Lord
The Angel's in Heaven will shout about it

That's why the thieves will be surprised
On God's grand reckoning day
They think they've gotten away with theft
But God sees night as day
And those thoughts that rule your heart
You might be in for a big surprise
For the Word of God will be your judge
But too late to open up your eyes

Where are you standing on God's Word
Is it still a lost cause for you
You might really want to check it out my friend
And find out God's point of view
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom
Wise if you adhere to that fact
Come with a humble heart willing to believe it
Then step back and let God act!

I'm a result of reading God's Word
And repenting of sin in my life
As well I have been doubly blessed
For I have a believing wife
God who knows the heart's of all men
Including my wife and me
He will never leave us or forsake us
Praise God what a memory!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
