Others' Faith Inspires Me

OTHERS' FAITH INSPIRES ME

Others' faith inspires me
And makes me check my own
When I see their leaps of faith
While I just tag along

Great to be one of the crowd
When others' faith I see
Reminds me of how great our God
The one who died for me

He still does work in lives of men
Who know Him not as Saviour
He has a plan unfolding for
Those in His special favour

Without faith, impossible to please
Who made us creature's such
Praise the Lord who loves us so
He loves us very much

No problem is so great that He
Can never find the answer
He has the perfect solution
From Him to you He'll transfer

His ear's atuned to broken heart's
The Father hears their cry
And swift attends to recompense
Them for their call on High

With great pleasure,  He meets the need
Of each one gone astray
He sent His Shepherd on ahead
To show the sheep the Way

Don't think too trivial or light a thing
That He our God would care
But bring to Him, yes everthing
Bring to Him in prayer

Boldly make your petition
While at the throne of Grace
Abundantly He'll pour out Mercy
As there you seek His face

God loves, to show Himself
Strong on your behalf
Give Him the chance He wants to have
To be your Rod and Staff

He your Shepherd, You shall not want
But in green pasture's lay
Beside still water's listening too
The voice who leads your way

Take hope my friend take faith
And in taking faith you'll see
The God who asks you to believe
Will give you faith to see!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
