A Demonstration Of God's Love

A Demonstration Of God's Love

A demonstration of God's love
Is the glory of the sun
Which brightens up His whole wide world
As a blessing to each one
Just that fact should warm our heart's
As we give God recognition
That praise God He most assuredly deserves
The great God of our Salvation!

He who said.." let there be light"
And still that light there is
And gives us guidance by the light of His Word
The loving God that He is
Never willing that any should perish
He's made provision through His Son
That repentant heart's might find the Saviour
The Just and Holy One!

A generous portion of grace O Lord
You bestow on repentant one's
When they are escaped from the kingdom of darkness
And become Your daughter's and son's
With rejoicing hallelujah's
From the heart's of those who are freed
So thankful for the realization of
They've found their soul's deepest need...

Now glory in the Highest is assured
For each sinner saved by grace
For now they're guarenteed  to meet
The blessed Saviour face to face
Fastened to that hope by faith
Their anchor is sure to hold
For the Word of God shall never fail
And praise God it shall never grow old!

Our daily bread and water
O thirsty one please come
And taste of the goodness of the Lord
The Written and Living One
For His is the Kingdom...the power and the glory
Come and believe it my friend
For there never was a Friend like the lowly Jesus
Who loveth and loveth again!

O the forgiveness awaiting each sinner
Who are carrying their burdens alone
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Chief burden Bearer
You needn't bear them alone
Bring them all!...every last one!
Come and your guilt will be gone!
For burdens are lifted at Calvary
Through the shed blood of Jesus, God's Son!

Want a new song in your heart?...He's got it!
For joy is the product of grace
For when you taste mercy at the foot of the Cross
A divine transaction takes place
For now the Lord Jesus is born in you
By the quickening of the Spirit
The Word of God has life transforming power
O that men would hear it!

What a special day is upon us again
The remembrance of that babe in a manger
Follow that life to Calvary's  Cross
Come to Him and don't be a stranger
For He alone is Who it is
That can give you life after death
Let Him be your Resurrection my friend
And hallow Him with each breath!

Far more sweeter than any honeycomb
Is that Saviour's love
Who took upon Himself full responsibility
To reconcile us unto God
For complete obedience won God's favor
Praise God for that faithful One
Ever living to make intercession for
Those who have trusted in the Son!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
Mine!...for all of eternity!
Now I'm enjoying a little taste of Heaven
But just think of what glory will be!!!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
