MONUMENTAL MOMENTS

Monumental moments determine destiny

Making right decisions can truly set you free

God is at your heart's door waiting on you friend

Trust in the Creator,  Lord Jesus, sinner's Friend

Though complex seem the problems that come along the way

Give them over to the Lord trust Him and obey

Don't live carrying burdens you were never meant to bare

Consistently and constantly cover them with prayer

Don't think it miniscule the thought you have today

It could lead to a decision that you'll have too make someday

Give prayer utmost attention. ..Lord what would You have me to do

Then patiently wait for the answer. ..He will see you through

Prayer and meditation. .two stalwarts of the faith

Go on in obedience,  to the Lord's " thus saith"

The Holy Spirit leading, be receptive to submit

If it is wrong choices. .He'll have none of it

The peace of God prevailing, make it your common rule

Don't be hastey in decision making and prove yourself a fool

Ask and it shall be given. .seek and ye shall find

Knock and the door will be opened, God

never leaves us in a bind

Reflect on previous happenings. .oh yes I remember when!

I was going to do such and such and then I prayed again

God decided otherwise and made His will quite clear

Son, you're not going anywhere. .I've planted you right here

The ways of a good man, are directed by the Lord

Keep faithful at praying and listening to His Word

You may have some plans but be flexible for revision

That little choice you make today. ..could be a monumental decision!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
