We Have a Peace That Germinates

We Have a Peace That Germinates

We have a peace that germinates
From the very heart of God
Extended towards all mankind
That is rarely understood
This is a peace found deep within
When planted by a seed of faith
"My peace I give unto you not as the world giveth"
Is written in the Lord's thus saith

Inner peace in the hidden man
Can be our consumation
When we believe and are forgiven
Such wonder our Salvation
Sin loses its drawing power
The Spirit sees to it
When we submit unto God
The devil has a fit

But mighty is that Lord of Heaven
Who is the peace Creator
Never a love such as His
Wonderful Lord and Saviour
Is your heart a recipient
Of this Godly peace
Then prepare your heart for Him a place
Enjoy the pleasure of sin's release!

Ah peace, peace wonderful peace
I know it as reality
Hidden in the depths of my heart
Is Jesus's peace to me
The cross the way of deliverance
I've found my way to its power
When I repented of my sin
His peace came in that hour

Thank you Lord that You're my Peace
My Comforter and Friend
That You have placed in my heart Eternity
A life that will never end
So rejoicing is definitely called for
For none other joy could be found
God Himself becoming my Peace
That thought is most profound!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
