Lord Touch Our Heart's
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Lord Touch Our Heart's

Lord touch our heart's once again
And fill them with Thy love
Remembering back to sin's pathways
Of the which that we use to trod
From whence we came in brokeness
With strugglings galore
Until we met that blessed Saviour
Who is Jesus Christ the Door

Who opened up a way of faith
That we might truly see
And with new beholding eyes
The worth of Calvary
Where sin gave us a demonstration of
The demands of wages earned
To the greatest of its shamelessness
Where the love of God was spurned

But praise God sin was powerless
To keep down our great God
Whose love alone with constantness
Redeemed us by His blood
For Innocence in full display
Was God's earth's Sacrifice
The Holiest of the holiest
Who paid sins ransom price

Now God alone with full fledged grace
Could give a sinner rest
If he would come with the realization of truth
And with a heart of brokenness
To see the love from a Father hand
In the offering of His own dear Son
None to compare with that act of righteousness
No not one!...No not one!

Who shall receive all of the glory
Deserving of such a fine act
I say God alone!...God alone!
That's a most truthful fact!
For there's an empty grave in my memory
And it shall be forever etched!
For never greater love was exposed to this world
Then as was Him on Cross Who was stretched!

Now in absolute allegiance  too
That One who died for my sin
I hasten back to my first love
Who to me has truly forgiven
That stain of sin that once colored my life
Praise God it has disappeared
For the shed blood of Christ has cleansed my heart
Now He forever shall be revered!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
